A cylindrical three lug action, basically a Remington exterior configuration.
The receiver is of 4340 chrome/moly/nickel steel through hardened to 38Rc and finish machined after surface hardening to ensure concentricity. The action is supplied as standard with no trigger, but with a hanger to enable fitting the trigger of choice (such as any "Remington style" clone). This action has been configured to accept a 5 or 10 round HS Precision magazine and floorware. Just as in the Model S (single shot version) the Model SM has a Sako Type extractor and is equipped with a boltface plunger style ejector.
